Sondes Place Farm is a 320 acre mixed farm located between
Dorking and Westcott. It has been farmed by the
Broom family since 1897, and is currently managed by Hugh
Broom (part of the 4th generation to farm here in Dorking).
The farm has a flock of 200 breeding ewes, as well as a
small suckler beef herd, and Gloucester Old Spot pig
breeding herd, laying hen flock, firewood enterprise, and
arable ground. Part of the farm is in the countryside
stewardship scheme, which has allowed a number of
environmental improvements to be made over recent years.
These include restoration and establishment of hedgerows, as
well as a new wildlife pond area.
The farm has many footpaths and borders both the town of
Dorking, and the village of Westcott
This website is designed to give local people the latest news about
the farm, a bit about what we do, and how we farm, as well as the
opportunity to buy locally produced, top quality meat and produce.
